Synopsis:
Burnt Oranges is an experimental documentary by Chicago filmmaker Silvia Malagrino that explores the history of political violence in her native Argentina. Malagrino examines the long-term effects and repercussions of Argentina's 1970's state terrorism through a combination of intimate witness narration, interviews, and re-created footage. The film is a personal and artistic portrayal of a country's struggles to confront its painful past and a reminder of the ongoing necessity to defend human rights and democratic values.
