Director: Stefano Scarafia & Paolo Casalis | Producer: BODA'
Focus Years: 2009 | Country: Italy
Synopsis:
The film presents an inside view of the 2008 Terra Madre meeting organized by Slow Food: 8,000 farmers, cooks, fishermen, academics, breeders and producers from around the world met to talk about food, the environment, biodiversity and local development in variety of languages, colors, words and music, giving voice to participants' concerns in this one-of-a-kind convention. From testimonies and meetings emerges the need to raise greater awareness of the relationship between man and nature, beyond profit-making and resource exploitation which have brought the earth to the brink of environmental disaster and generated a widening economic gap between developed and underdeveloped countries.
