Synopsis:
This is a video of a panel discussion given on the subject of spiritual awakening and ideas that grew out of 19th-century New England. This event was held as part of a series of performances and presentations in celebration of the centenary of Mary Baker Eddy's life, 1821-1910. The presentation included discussion and performance with a panel consisting of a Pulitzer-prize winning biographer, a historical reenactor, and the executive director of a cultural institution dedicated to the Alcott family, which included famed author Louisa May Alcott and the Transcendentalist philosopher, Bronson Alcott; the presentation also included a professor with authorship and expertise on the subject of Bronson Alcott and Mary Baker Eddy, founder of Christian Science.
The event embraced ideas relating to education and spirituality, and the importance of the soul in learning and perceiving reality.
