Synopsis:
Nilo, an artist, concentrates on her work in her workshop, located on a busy side street in Florence, and lives with ten cats that are frequently depicted in her pictures. Sitting at her desk, she paints while listening to the radio; outside, the busy life of the streets of the neighborhood continues. This portrait of the artist provides a privileged observation point into via Fiesolana, a very ordinary street in the heart of the city, where tourists never venture. In the workshop, background noise is muffled and time moves slowly, whereas outside, the busy noisy street is home to passers-by, mopeds, and bicycles. Nilo constantly glances out of the window, but she doesn't see the street because her attention is drawn inwards, into herself.
