Synopsis:
In Pocinhos (Paraíba, Brazil), approximately fifty years ago, some unidentified U.S. citizens began to appear frequently, leading scientific research in anonymity. The small semi-arid city of Paraíba today has a high rate of cancer. Brazilian scholars, in the 1970s and 1980s, made scientific investigations 'in loco,' confirming the presence of uranium in Pocinhos' subsoil. In this documentary, the inhabitants talk about the situation in which the presence of uranium left them. Some of them witnessed the uranium extraction process and its measurement with scientific equipment. They express their opinions and even take the chance to protest against the silence and the reality that the local population is denied any information that could eventually clarify what has happened and, above all, the relationship between uranium and cancer.
