Synopsis:
This 26-minute musical documentary directed by Jean-David Curtis was shot in Paris and Budapest during the rehearsals and recordings of Laurent Petitgirard's new opera "Guru" The composer also conducted the orchestra and directed the chorus and soloists. "Guru" tells the story of a sect leader and deals with mental manipulation. Therefore, the film also features the librettist, Xavier Maurel and George Fenech, president of Miviludes, the French anti-sect agency, whose speeches put the plot of the opera at the heart of a contemporary phenomenon. The recording of "Guru" is released on the label Naxos.
