More than 30 years ago, Bhaderwah was discovered by a film crew from Bombay, who thought they had found another Kashmir. When "Noorie" was released in 1977, both the film and its music were an instant hit and so was its setting. Now as Bhaderwah emerges out of its worst phase of militancy and tries to become a tourist destination, it is the memory that the government wants to cash in on.
