Leidsin - Found - Estonian Joy - Family| 7mins
Director: Tania Pisa | Producer: Tania Pisa
Focus Years: 2012 | Country: Canada
Synopsis:
This is my first short documentary; it was entered into the EstDocs 2012 short film competition. The theme for this competition was Estonian Joy and I chose family. It is about finding my grandfather's relatives and meeting them for the first time in Estonia. The biggest challenge was limiting the film to 7 minutes, which was the maximum time the competition allowed. My story is not unique in the sense that many Estonian families had been separated during WWII. This film is not only for my own family but for all of those who share similar stories and for families all over the world that have been displaced because of war.
