A Good Death| 26mins
Director: Paul Trotman | Producer: Paul Trotman & D Robin Taylor
Focus Years: 2012 | Country: New Zealand
Synopsis:
In this film we follow Martin Cavanagh through the last year of his life. Martin is dying of chronic lung disease, but there's something special about Martin and his family: they are able to vocalize what they are experiencing extraordinarily clearly. This gives us, and the medical professionals looking after Martin a chance to explore the hard questions: How much healthcare is too much? When does healthcare get in the way of the inevitable? When do we shift our focus from keeping someone alive at all costs to allowing them to die with dignity?
