Synopsis:
This film talks about the sensitive ecosystem of Himalayas. The ever increasing population are creating a pressure on the coniferous and broad leaved forests of this region, making them highly degraded and fragmented. The local tribal people needs resources from these forests for their livelihood. They will feel alienated and subjugated if Government forcefully imply regulations. The better way to handle this situation is to find alternative support system of livelihood to minimize the pressure on bio-diversity. Use of traditional knowledge married with technology in alternative livelihood generation holds the key for successful implementation of such projects. This film explores the pros and cons of this process of sustainable development.
