In west Honduras there is a tiny agricultural town called Oropoli. Oropoli has a population of about four to five thousand people and is a hub for the cluster of little towns around it. I arrived in Honduras, Pastor Moises picked me up at the airport, and we went to eat some fried chicken. He told me all about the little town of Oropoli and their need for a clinic. I had been to Oropoli three years before with a medical brigade, but the bus broke down on the way, so about 4 of us piled in a truck and made the rest of the trip. There were many people lined up to receive medical attention, and it was disappointing to be unable to help them. This time was different, the medical brigade from compassionmed.org and I made it out there early and spent the night to get in 2 full days of medical service. There were hundreds of people lined up outside waiting patiently in the hot sun and thunderstorm that passed through. After hearing Moises tell me about the problem in Oropoli, I decided that I would help in any way I could, so I told him I would put together a short documentary on the need for the clinic and set up a fundraiser, which can be found here: crowdrise.com/oropoli.
