Finding Our Voices| 1hr : 10mins
Director: Victoria Hughes | Producer: Holly Stadtler
Focus Years: 2008 | Country: United States
Synopsis:
"Finding Our Voices" profiles the dissent of 8 courageous individuals who spoke out against the war in Iraq and considers the role of dissent in a democracy and the effectiveness of protest. Originally released on the 5th anniversary of the invasion—March 2008, in the wake of Arab Spring and the Occupy Wall Street Movement, this film still has relevance. The film raises the question, if there is no dissent, and therefore no debate, do we still have a democracy? This film follows eight diverse Americans over a five-year period as they attempt to protect democracy with their lives.
