Synopsis:
Intelligence is not unique to humanity alone. Plants for example, not only have consciousness, but also act as pure consciousness. The Amazonian shamanic tradition acknowledges this concept, and considers certain plants as master teachers. The aim of this video art project is to illustrate the teachings and visions people have while drinking one of the Amazonian sacred plants called "Ayahuasca" (Banisteriopsis Caapi).
"Sometimes I feel like nationalizing snake" is originally an interactive video installation composed of 13 video art pieces. Using an EEG headset, Mariana Tschudi, in collaboration with bio medical engineer Juan Manuel Benavides, read the spectator’s brainwaves in order to choose which video art is more aligned with the viewer’s state of mind. Hence, the order in which the 13 videos appear to each person depends on their brain activity.
