Synopsis:
News of the 2008 U.S. Presidential election reverberated across continents. At the bottom of the world, the reaction of thousands of penguins to the promise of change is captured on film. Lighthearted, funny, and whimsical, this film also speaks to the changes that global warming may have on this exquisitely beautiful land and its spirited inhabitants.
Scientists now know that Antarctica is warming significantly, especially in the west. Some penguins are in jeopardy if the climate warms, even a couple of degrees. It is a world far far away from the politics of the United States. But the impact on its inhabitants is direct. And the decisions humans make about their use of energy will ripple to the bottom of the world.
