Director: Mark Whatmore | Producer: Dr Halla Diyab
Focus Years: 2011 | Country: United Kingdom
Synopsis:
Wadi Hanifah is an ancient waterway that runs through the city of Riyadh. During the boom years, as Saudi Arabia's population expanded and the city grew, the Wadi became a polluted eyesore, clogged with rubbish and rubble. The Riyadh Development Authority has spent more than ten years restoring the Wadi and creating a beautiful, urban park. This is the story of that transformation.
