Ciar cum'é l'acqua del Lamber| 46mins
Director: Elena Maggioni, Hulda Federica Orru' | Producer: Legambiente
Focus Years: 2012 | Country: Italy
Synopsis:
This is the story of a river, the Lambro, which runs through the most populous part of Lombardy. It is the story of a river that runs for over 130 km and affects hills, creating deep gorges, crosses countries, laps the economic heart of the region, the city of Milan. In the past, this river was valued for her beauty, was an important resource for its territory, a place of refreshment and fishing. In the middle of the last century the balance between Man and River however is broken, bringing the Lambro river to become a "dying" river that citizens and local governments seem to have turned their backs on. Paved, used as sewage dump, forgotten.
That is, until the disaster of February 23, 2010: an oil spill in Villasanta. Is this the end of a river? We think not. Because this is also the story of a journey - of discovering unexpectedly evocative places, local cultures full of history and wisdom, and people of the river who so generously volunteer their time and energy to bring the Lambro back to life, so we can once again consider it "our" river.
