In the small village of Meronas, in the mountainous region of Rethymnon in Crete, Greece, there is a cultural association that revives a long forgotten tradition and attempts to bring the new generation closer to the wisdom of its ancestors. The existence of 40 plus students of Cretan instruments within the village is an incentive for the cultural association of Meronas to organize the first Musical Tutorial in August 2011. Three remarkable musicians share their knowledge with the students. One of them is Dimitris Sgouros, who has an outstanding knowledge of the Byzantine notation and works to decipher and reveal the unique manuscripts of the father of Cretan folklore, Pavlos Vlastos, to the public. The movie brings forward the values and virtues of authentic Cretan music. As it was Pavlos Vlastos dream: "The wise advice of our people, their short and direct ways of expression, their rich songs so full of deep meaning. There is so much virtue, so many educational diamonds, ancient revelations and valuable findings that should not be lost and forgotten."
