The climate change problem is a multifaceted one affecting the world and the survival of humanity. Part One opens with the beauty of the land—its magnificence, the joy that people feel in nature from children to adults. We see the problems island nations are presently facing, since climate change will affect their water supply and food production. Part One is an overview to introduce the problem of climate change and the entire problem in all its complexity. We are discovering that all the predictions of rising ocean level are wrong. The oceans will rise to levels that will cause one hundred million to die by 2030. Since methane is becoming the problem I believe that we can triple that figure to three hundred million and an ocean rise of one meter. The direction this production takes is our guide to different places that are suffering the effects of climate change. This work will take us to the islands where we look at the problems of rising ocean levels and nations who entire culture will perish. Rising ocean levels will cause island nations to emigrate. We will see and hear the problem from the people who live there and recognize that this problem will affect global demographics, including in the western world and put greater pressure on the developed world’s resource and economic base. Moreover, as climate change becomes unable to be controlled panic will begin to rise and destabilize the world. Using artistically beautiful and creative scenes we introduce the artist's view of climate change, employing poetry, different musical idioms as well as special effects to present the message that reaches the emotions of the viewing public. The message often must simplify scientific fact with special effects and actual imagery much of it unavailable. Climate effects must be created for people to better understand how climate change will impact their lives. In the short time this is written much of this has become obsolete. Climate is changing faster then we can now understand. The artist explains the complex issues surrounding climate change utilizing his artistically created imagery created with film, video, and photographic technique during his career of environmental work. The artist, using writing skills that work with his imagery, weaves together the fabric of an artistic and emotional message about the implications of climate change and global warming creating the impetus to act. However, the corporations are in control and seem to be unstoppable. People are now recognizing this but it is too late. However, the children must know their fate and be able to somehow survive. The imagery and text are the creation of the project’s extremely prolific director and thinker. Ike Karnick has been trying with little help to impact global society. His imagery spanning forty years, are taken from the artists films, still and video library spanning this time. The concept of the work beginning with his Acid Rain work in 1978 culminates with “World On Edge", the first of four sections complete for presentation.
