Synopsis:
With so many grim stories on the news about the extinction of species and reef systems, air pollution or overpopulation and poverty, most people feel disenfranchised about how they could have any effect on, or stop, what seems like the world’s inevitable demise. Research suggests that a majority of people are willing to participate in the creation of a sustainable future, but lack an awareness of the ways that they can contribute to this positive change.
Sprout empowers viewers by providing them with information and solutions in an accessible, fun and groovy way. This programme aims to build the capacity of viewers to respond/take up the challenge of sustainable living. It will show viewers how they can make some simple changes which will have global consequences.
"Water in the Garden" takes a look at how to create a sustainable garden.
"Power House" explores household energy management.
