Synopsis:
Hard Labour, a short film made by Jan Nimmo for the Make Fruit Fair campaign, explores the violations of workers' rights and obstacles to joining free trade unions in the Costa Rican pineapple and banana sector. It also looks at workers' occupational ill health in an industry where workers are routinely exposed to toxic chemicals.
