After the death of Don Peppe, who was a rich but corrupt landholder, his son Nicola and grandson Giuseppe are contacted by a company that specializes in renewable energy structures. Attracted by the earnings, and trusting the ecological goal of the project, father and son – neither of whom are interested in keeping the fields arable – drive together through the small town in the countryside of Molise (southern Italy) in order to sign the deal. During their stay there, Nicola unexpectedly discovers himself deeply connected with his roots, while his son Giuseppe discovers a friendly and fascinating land he barely remembers. The company's lack of transparency in managing renewable energy matters also helps Nicola and Giuseppe change their minds.
