A New Leaf| 24mins
Director: Edward Owles | Producer: Edward Owles
Focus Years: 2006 | Country: United Kingdom
Synopsis:
Tracing the journey of tea from 'bush to cup', A New Leaf examines a radical grassroots trading initiative launched in the Gudalur Valley of Tamil Nadu, Southern India.
The movement - 'Just Change' - challenges the basic assumptions that lie behind global trade, by directly linking communities across the globe, from indigenous Adivasi tea growers in the Nilgiri Hills to activist tea drinkers on a council estate in Luton, UK.
