The Man Who Loved Trees| 26mins
Director: John N Campbell | Producer: John N Campbell
Focus Years: 2009 | Country: United States
Synopsis:
Peter Schlotterer was a neighbor of mine in rural Pennsylvania. He loved nature, the rural landscape of our community, and he especially loved trees. He planted hundreds of native species on his land. He was a quiet, gentle man who worked diligently for many years to preserve the rural character of our community, even assuming great financial risks to preserve the landscape he loved. Although he never married or had children, he influenced many people including generations of students who continue to benefit from his establishment of a scholarship in Ecological Restoration. Peter's story illustrates what a single individual can achieve when motivated by compassion and respect for nature and their community.
