Dr. Ullas Karanth, a senior scientist of the Wildlife Conservation Society, is one of the world's foremost experts on wild tigers and their conservation. His pioneering work during the course of the last 30 years has transformed and deepened our understanding of tiger ecology and population dynamics. Karanth was the first biologist to radio track tigers in India. In the 1990s he also devised an ingenious system of identifying and counting tigers from photographs taken by remote cameras placed in the forest. This film is about the work that he and his team carry out in India's tiger forests.
