Synopsis:
Choking Lake Winnipeg is a documentary film about the issues impacting water quality and lake eutrophication in the Lake Winnipeg watershed. The watershed, the largest on the Canadian prairies, is in rapid decline due to pollution, population pressures and water diversion. A concerted public campaign is needed to change personal and societal actions that negatively impact the Winnipeg watershed, and the confluence of the watershed - Lake Winnipeg. The production features interviews with outstanding aquatic ecologists, water resource scientists and innovators who provide solutions for cleaning up our lakes and rivers.
