Director: Rahul Kshirsagar | Producer: WASTE
Focus Years: 2011 | Country: Netherlands
Synopsis:
The film is set in a jungle. It shows that the terrible stench of early morning defecation gets the main characters into action. All main characters are animals. They want to do something about this smell and decide to seek council with the wise old owl.
On their way, they see how other animals deal with it and they get a better insight into the technical aspects of sanitation. As the technology of sanitation is often perceived as a boring subject that is difficult to present to a non technical audience, the filmmakers have opted for cartoon animals experiencing the story and showing the various possibilities.
The difference between superstructures and substructures is explained visually and also some of the more recent initiatives are exemplified through research efforts of the monkey. It becomes clear that there is much to be gained by “back-end engineeringâ€.
