Synopsis:
Mohan S.Rao, an Bangalore-based environmental designer, is concerned with the ecological backdrop of landscape, and especially with rainwater harvesting.
A huge and beautiful archaeological site, Hampi, reveals us how Indian people reached to use a complex harvesting system for all their water needs - without using the river, in the 16th century. Mohan works with archaeologists to revive these structures.
Then he shows how to make sites self-sustainable regarding water, in a passive and natural way, through two contemporary sites: a farm in a very dry countryside and his own urban house.
Finally, with Sanjay Prakah, specialized in building energy systems, they talk about various aspects of water management.
This film has been made as part of a Euro-Indian collaborative project, in order to participate to exchange of ecological experiences in India.
