Synopsis:
Neighborhood friends are having fun painting a little wooden house "Casita" when two police officers arrive with personal news for grandpa Sal. Seven year old Karina becomes frightened as she watches grandpa accompany the officers, to an undisclosed location. Upon Sal's return, he explains that he has just lost his best friend, Luis. With no known family, it is now up to them to provide their good friend with a proper send off. Moved by Sal's sadness, Karina reassures her grandpa that a spiritual guide (familiar to them all) will come to their aid. The men follow her lead and decide to finish working on their 'casita' as a tribute to Luis. The following day, we see how Karina's inspiration helps her grandpa, friends and neighbors, say goodbye to a dear friend.
