“Longing for a Local Lunch,” a "Young Voices for the Planet” film produced by children’s author Lynne Cherry, features Great Barrington, MA students concerned about climate change calculating CO2 emissions and nutrition from local vs processed food. With community support-- including Smitty Pignatelli--they introduce local fare to improve student health through better school lunches. Monument student Zoe Borden asks, “Why not start here and reduce our carbon footprint by buying locally?” Indeed, why not?
