Synopsis:
After Kenya, Loïc and Geoffroy entered Ethiopia. They continue their epic encounter of different peoples of the nature and the riches of the earth. They will grow with salt farmers, live with Konzo but also meet some hassles motorcycle facing the river and the Ethiopian Roads. This episode is high time meetings in a notorious for famines country. Loïc Geoffroy and want to see how the population is struggling with its legacy tools to survive and how it is raised these years of suffering. They are welcomed among the peoples of southern Ethiopia coexist close to each other in a mountainous environment where water falls in abundance when he feels like it ... In this episode, we see near the endurance necessary to achieve this expedition sidecars, off the beaten track, where few drivers venture and each meter can turn into a nightmare. There has been comical situations that arise between Geoffroy and Loïc and population. To cross the river Omo they were advising a "ferry" which is actually a simple canoe to transport men and a bike, but not sidecars!Geoffroy and Loïc arrive at the heart of Chew Bet crater where they meet the people who collect the salt in the heart of the volcano. Attention in this episode, Geoffroy dropped the jacket, shirt and pants (it stops there ;) ). To put them at ease residents who welcome into their world, he went with them to swim in very salty water and toxic to the skin. Over the questions, he realizes that the man endangers his health to raise those extra salt it then sells ... A touching encounter.Further, Loïc and Geoffrey are attracted to melodious songs ... Men scoop water and form a long line of arms that carry water from the depths of the well to the surface. With a scale system installed in the water, the men take turns at different levels of wells to circulate seals filled with water. They can go up to twelve feet deep with 5-12 men paying strong hands in the operation. The technique impresses Loïc which helps to better understand the workings of this great human chain. Above all, these men singing such a wonderful song you listen closer to the water. Geoffroy and Loïc continue their meetings. They meet and share the life of a tribe living Konzo crops and water flowing down each year, from terrace to terrace.
