Synopsis:
The village Lahij is a historical-architectural monument which is protected by the state. It's one of ancient villages of Azerbaijan. When you come to this village for the first time, you get a feeling is if you returned for several centuries back - to the Middle Ages epoch. The dried up river bed is covered by stones which rough stream brings here in a high water. Lahij also was under construction of these stones throughout centuries. A roadway, houses, fences -- all is made of stone. But the main pride of Lahij, certainly, is its copper craft. For a long time Lahij was the center of coppersmiths most known in caucasus. The copper products made in Lahij are stored in museums of Europe: in Louver, Bern museum. The local population follows craft traditions as before which they inherited from grandfathers.
