Director: Nameera Ahmed | Producer: Nameera Ahmed
Focus Years: 2009 | Country: Pakistan
Synopsis:
This short film is about the centuries-old technique of supplying water to houses and shops in the busiest and oldest parts of Karachi, which still do not have running water through taps. A young man, who continues this technique to this day, delivers water in a leather sac made of goat-skin on his back, to street vendors selling food items and to houses which do not have access to running water, or when water supplies are cut by the water board/the main water-supplying authority of the city. We listen in his own words to street-wisdom about the necessity of water, which he has acquired through his years of working on the crowded streets of old Karachi.
