Sultana, "Kucu Kalkmaz"| 4mins
Director: Link TV | Producer: Link TV
Focus Years: 2006 | Country: United States
Subject Tags: gender, middle east, relationships, violence
Quality Tags: Optimistic, Slow, Activating, Harmonizing
Despite its high sexual imagery, this black and white video is an indictment of domestic violence and male chauvinism. Although there are no explicit words, or outright sexual acts, the video was deemed obscene and was censored in Turkey. An irony, considering how ultimately moralistic the message is. The video opens with another track from the CD, Until the lion Learns to Speak.
