Synopsis:
"Invincible Summer" is a snapshot of a crucial time for Faith, a teenager recovering from cancer treatment. As her health returns, she begins to reclaim her life as she once knew it, only to find that much has changed - her friends, school, her secret crush. But what has changed most of all is Faith's determination to live again. "Invincible Summer" is based on writer/director Sophia Eptamenitis’ experience as a teenager with cancer. At age 14. Sophia was diagnosed with Hodgkin’s Disease, a type of lymphoma, and for ten grueling months, underwent chemotherapy and radiation treatment, missing a majority of her freshman and sophomore years of high school. This film addresses the psychological and emotional difficulties cancer patients struggle with as they finish their treatments and return to “normal.” But while the dust settles, there is the realization: nothing will ever be “normal” again.
