"Heart Sutra" was written after 500 to 700 years had passed after Shakyamuni had died. After his death, Shakyamuni’s order had the problem that many disciples were only interested in learning to attain their own personal enlightenment and the success in the order. Some disciples in the order criticized them, and started the Mahayana Buddhism (the great vehicle philosophy). They thought that the salvation itself is the most important mission of the Buddhism. "Heart Sutra" was born, and carried out the main role in the movement of salvation.
