"Legacy of a Dream" is a highly condensed version of "King: A Filmed Record; Montgomery to Memphis", the definitive documentary of Martin Luther King's non-violent campaign for civil rights and social justice, and was made primarily for use in schools. It uses only original newsreel and other actuality footage, unvarnished and unretouched, and covers the period from the Montgomery bus boycott of 1955 through his assassination in 1968. Narrated by James Earl Jones.
