Synopsis:
"Bear That Broke" film explores two parent-child relationships, and how the damage of one bleeds into the other. John is a single parent father dealing with the death of his daughter. He so desperately wanted to succeed as a parent, to have his child look up to him and respect him, and fulfill the role his father never did. His feelings of anger, loss, desperation, shame and failure all come to the surface in a confrontation with his father. This central confrontation between father and son explores the pain, anger and resentment that can nest in a child, and the shockwaves of poor parenting years down the line. The patriarch is often regarded as a figure of strength and reliability, and through a child's eyes almost the daddy bear of a fairy tale. The moments in life when the fairy tale breaks are often those that shape you.
