Director: Anatoly Baluev | Producer: Anatoly Baluev
Focus Years: 2002 | Country: Russian Federation
Synopsis:
Unique amateur footage made by the Russian military in the destroyed city of Grozny in 1995 is used in the film. The major character of the film, Svetlana Naimushena, who had to flee Chechnya with her mother when the bombing started, is giving her comments about the footage. Included in this film are segments from dramatic video coverage of the September 11 terrorist acts in New York City. According to Svetlana, this tragedy and the war in Chechnya – just like any modern war – are links in the same chain that is pulling humankind to self-destruction.
