Director: Begonya Plaza | Producer: Robert Rosenbluth
Focus Years: 2009 | Country: United States
Synopsis:
Bobby is an Iraqi Veteran of war, who has been back in the USA for some months now and is temporarily crashing at his sister’s apartment in NYC. Finally today after endless job searching, it is Bobby’s first day at work. But when Jane comes home and sees her brother is still sitting in front of the television getting drunk, sparks begin to fly and Bobby’s inner demons lash out in response. Bobby's devoted, yet naïve sister breaks down in the struggle to comprehend and see him through the agonizing truth, revealing that although her brother seems apparently intact, he is psychologically and emotionally traumatized for life. Forced by their family bond of love, the process of awakening to the morally degenerating and toxic consequences of war are in process, and when Bobby receives a phone call demanding his return to military duty, were it not for his sister’s loving grace, he would have lost all hope for redemption.
