Synopsis:
"I’m Not Dead Yet" is a film about the inheritance of a Gothic home, and a family’s unspoken past. The film chronicles a bitter tug-of-war between estranged twin sisters for the affections of their elderly mother, Ruth, and the inheritance of the family estate – a Gothic mansion in the north of England. And as tensions boil over and Ruth flees to France, so an awful truth emerges regarding the twins’ childhood growing up in the old house. A truth that has lain buried for over 40 years. Directed by grand-daughter Elizabeth, "I’m Not Dead Yet" is a deeply moving and personal account of Ruth’s turbulent journey, which perfectly captures the unraveling of a family consumed by the legacy of four decades of silence and denial.
