The city is a symphony. This three-channeled allegorial installation features the lives of Shanghai’s migrant recyclers and their musical calls that form the sound track of Changning District. In this musical piece, a plastic bottle becomes a metaphor for the cycles of life, love, and reincarnation. A TV journalist, broken-hearted lover and other eclectic characters that make up the fabric of this bustling metropolis help to expose the colorful condition of contemporary urbanity.
