Synopsis:
In the 21st century, we salute the modern Indian woman for taking on the challenges of the world. But that’s only how outsiders perceive her. Inside, she is struggling for basic rights, and is still trying to break the stereotypes. And is constantly trying to find an answer to one question, "how empowered are we?" "Women Unliberated" is a news documentary exposing the truth behind the so called “women’s liberation†both in urban and rural spaces. The 73rd constitutional amendment has given 33 percent reservation for women at the panchayati level. But who really pulls the strings behind this farce of empowerment? Has the gender disparity reduced? A question that took us to Haryana. Here, child marriage is a trend and most prefer to marry off their unwanted girl child. The fact is, rights for women are still unheard of, in most part of India.
