Plastic surgery in the popular perception is increasingly getting linked to the notions of beauty and perfection, specially in urban centers ... but that is just one tiny dimension. In "24 Hours" this week we travel to Lucknow, to the KGMCU, a government medical university, supposed to have one of the finest departments of plastic surgery to find the real picture, the real story of what it means to go under the knife for the vast majority of those who live in India's rural areas.
