Synopsis:
The name of Mr. Sakurai San's zen flute is MU. MU is the Japanese word for nothing or nothingness. The zen flute player Mr. Sakurai San plays his flute in order to calm his thoughts. He uses his playing sessions as a way to allow his mind to stop thinking. The film is an attempt to reflect upon the ranges between the dualistic world of thinking and "non thinking". It shows different phases of thinking, and how Mr. Sakurai San tries to shake off the pictures and stories, in his mind, using the sound of his flute.
