Director: Gopal Menon | Producer: Other Media Communications Pvt Ltd
Focus Years: 2002 | Country: India
Synopsis:
India's caste system is perhaps the world's longest-surviving social hierarchy. It places more than 160 million people - Dalits - at the outskirts of society, exploiting their services while denying them acceptance even as human beings. "Resilient Rhythms" is the first comprehensive film attempted in India on the Dalits' issues, and deals with a range of Dalit responses, from armed struggles to electoral politics.
