Synopsis:
"Lapp Hat" is a 52-minute creative documentary film presenting the game of power-dynamics between the minority and majority population of Norway. In 2003, Guro worked as a radio journalist with Norwegian Broadcasting, NRK. On air she unwittingly expressed herself in a politically incorrect manner. For some, it was like swearing in church. A conflict that was not normally visible suddenly surfaced and Guro herself was accused of being a racist. Norway was the first country in the world to recognize and protect their indigenous people, the Sami, through national law. Yet have these changes helped to build bridges between the Norwegian and Sami communities or have they escalated the issue of race and rights?
