Focus Years: 2009 | Country: United Kingdom
Synopsis:
"Napoleon in Newcastle, Hitting the Streets" is an exclusive documentary about Mutah Napoleon Beale, ex-member of rap group Tupac and the Outlawz, and his technique of mentoring. Here, we see him engaging with young people alongside the EMTEP HYPE team on the streets of Newcastle-upon-Tyne, UK. Mutah Beale uses his previous fame and knowledge of the American hip-hop scene as a way of getting the youth to hear him with open ears. He speaks directly with disaffected young people and spreads a message of non-violence and respect, as well as discussing his belief in Islam, a religion he came to only later in his life.
