Synopsis:
Rain. In all our cultures, rain is considered nature's blessing. A sign of hope, prosperity, of good times. For the survivors of the December 2004 tsunami, however, rain is today a curse, bringing ill-health, misery and nights of sleeplessness. Crowded into so-called temporary shelters and awaiting permanent homes, daily life is nothing more than an battle to survive for these people, subjected once to one of the most horrific disasters the world has known and then forced to experience equally-horrific callousness and apathy. If it Rains Again is a documentary that brings out the agony of the life in shelters in Tamil Nadu. More than two years after the tsunami, most of the tsunami survivors still remain in temporary shelters without basic amenities and with the constant threat of fire and rain.
