Synopsis:
In the early 50s, Justo Gallego Martinez, a young Spanish monk, contracted TB. He promised himself that if he were cured, he would devote the rest of his life to building a cathedral in honor of Our Lady of Pilar. Miraculously, he survived. Without any professional help or knowledge of architecture, he began a building site 20 kms from Madrid that would last nearly a half century. He worked all year round, every day except Sundays. Today, the monk is 84. He says it would take another ten years to finish the cathedral and that though he may not live to see it completed, he is satisfied.
