Synopsis:
The Forty Pulpits is an old-rooted ceremony in Iran. In different parts of Iran like Birjand, Mashhad and Lahijan they also call it ‘’five pulpits’’, ‘’seven pulpits ‘’… . but the oldest form of it is found in Borujerd, Lorestan. "Forty Pulpits" is executed every Tasu’a day - the first day of the war of Hossein. All over the city people come to take their wishes from Imam Hossein. Unfortunately, superstition and religion dominate our society and too often interfere with peoples’ real lives. This is what I have tried to picture here.
